Dr. Younki Lee is an Associate Professor at Gyeongsang National University (GNU) in the Republic of Korea. His area of expertise is in designing ion-transport materials and electrochemical devices for power generation and energy storage, utilizing experimental approaches and electrochemical analyses. Dr. Lee has been conducting research on understanding ion transfer and redox behaviors of inorganic materials for various energy applications.
Dr. Lee had received support from the National Research Foundation of Korea to promote oxygen ion transport in ceramics and design novel solid oxide cells for low-temperature operation. Since 2013, he has expanded his electrochemistry knowledge to battery applications, by initiating collaborative efforts to develop ion-conducting electrolyte materials for sodium beta-alumina batteries, such as sodium-sulfur and sodium nickel chloride batteries, for grid-scale energy storage. He has actively collaborated with several research institutes and companies worldwide and currently leads a laboratory dedicated to developing novel batteries and related materials at Gyeongsang National University. Dr. Lee's recent research interests have broadened to include electrode materials for lithium-ion and metal-sulfur batteries and materials for environmental use.
In conclusion, Dr. Younki Lee is an accomplished Associate Professor with a diverse research background in designing ion-transport materials, electrochemical devices, and batteries for power generation and energy storage. His innovative work and collaborations have advanced the field of electrochemistry and energy storage, with potential for real-world impact.
